*Plays Alicia Keys and Jay Z's "New York" VMA performance* *turns into Little Mama* *Hops on stage*
Last weekend I went to New York to visit my cousin before my Spring break ended. I literally did nothing all week before my friends dragged me out the house to watch Cinderella with them, and I was glad I went. Now I'm eagerly waiting for my Prince. Jk. But anyways, the night before I was scheduled to leave, Friday, I went to a youth event at my friends' church. It was really good and I had an awesome time until my mom starting blowing my phone up asking me where I was. Typical. But this time, she wasn't calling for me to come home. She was calling me because I got locked out of the house. LOL. My brother was in Nicaragua, my mom and aunt were both doing night shifts at work in D.C., and my cousin, the last one to leave the house, left for the weekend. So here I am, with no where to go and an early bus to catch the next morning, left with no choice but to sleepover my girl Shaki's house that night.
Fast forward to the morning. I fell asleep at around 3:45 A.M. and set my school alarm to 7:15 A.M., completely forgetting that this is my school alarm, so of course it wasn't going to ring on a Saturday -.-. Lulu is sending me a series of texts at 6 AM asking me if I'm ready to go, meanwhile I don't wake up until 8:48. My bus leaves at 10:10AM. This is a lot of numbers guys but I'm just trying to prove to you how slow and late I am! I still had to go home and pack and get cute for New York. I rush to get ready while my optimistic cool friend Shaki keeps telling me "you'll make it! don't worry!" -.-. I didn't make it.
When I get to Union Station, its like those movies of the guy who's running through the airport trying to reach his girlfriend before she leaves him forever. He's running into people and knocking bags over and all that. That was me. My girlfriend was the stupid bus. When she left me, I wanted to cry and give up, but my aunt showed me to another girl. The next bus to New York was going to be there in 30 minutes, so I moved on quick. *Girls are like buses, miss one next fifteen one coming*
Because of that silly delay, I don't make it to New York until 5, spending my whole day on a bus. Smh.
Anyways, I get to New York and realize I am not made for the New York life. It was cold, it stinks, its crowded, and the people are weird. But being able to hang out with my cousin was all that mattered.
I realized that I am not much of a traveler. As soon as I step outside my house, I immediately want to go back home. I felt the same way when I went to Los Angeles two years ago, but now I miss it. Oh well. Kudos to my cousin for being out there all alone. You go Glenn Coco.
Now I'm back at school, trying to put my grades back together.
