Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

The sequence of unfortunate events that has happened to me this past week leading up to today has taught me six important things that will make or break the rest of my freshman year here at Maryland.

Do not do work in your room.
I hate the florescent white lights in my dorm, so my roommate and I don't use it. I thought I could complete the little work that I had instead of going to the library at 10pm. But under those christmas lights and in my as-close-as-you-can-get-in-a-college-dorm cozy bed, that was not happening. As a result, I failed two quizzes.

Do not try new things at the diner.
The food is not your home meal away from home. So much dining points has been wasted by me trying to find creative ways to turn my spaghetti into my moms rice and stew. I'll just stick to the fries and chicken tenders, but even those are a lot to handle sometimes o_O.

NEVER sign up for a 8 am.
For very obvious reasons.

There are no "chill days" in college.
My peers like to tell each other that sometimes you just need a day off of school to focus on yourself. Those people are usually undecided majors who obviously plan on staying in college for another 10 years. Okay I siced it, but I learned that for me one missed day takes me back a week. And playing catch up is not fun.

Use my planner.
I failed those two very simple quizzes not only because I tried to study in my bed and chose not to go to the library, but because I didn't open up my planner to see it clearly written what I need to prepare for the next day. Planners shall be my best friend!

Do not nap. Period.
Once I'm down, I'm out.

My attitude towards school definitely affects my performance but aye, we gon' get thru this.
